Quick 5 with Silvia Vinci

From Paris (in the last edition with Amel aka UGLY MELY) to Milan. This weeks quick 5 interview is with Italian babe Silvia Vinci.

I met Silvia some time ago when I was still working in retail and she was visiting the store together with her boyfriend. She recognized me from my blog and we started talking. I followed her and her account quickly became one of my favorite IG accounts to follow. Her style and her work are so dope that I just had to share it with you. So I asked her 5 quick questions!

LET’S GO

1. Can you tell me something about yourself?

Hi I’m Silvia and I live in Milan, Italy. I’m the store manager of Stüssy store but I also work as fashion stylist which is my first passion in my life.

2. How is the sneaker/streetwear scene in Milan? What are people wearing and is there a lot of girls rocking sneakers and streetwear?

The truth for me is that, The scene in Milan is not really strong; everyone is going crazy for hype shoes, hype streetwear and all. Actually people are mostly wearing Yeezy and adidas runners like NMD and Boost, this is part of sneaker game but is not coming from a passion in my opinion but just from the hype. Meanwhile you can’t find a lot of girls wearing cool sneaker or streetwear brands. The sneaker/streetwear scene for the woman is just starting now and it’s still super small if you compare it to other countries or other cities in Europe like Amsterdam, Berlin or London where girls are fully inside streetwear world already. One of the real problems is that brands don’t put focus on girls products but exclusively on mens products. Girls products are 100% underrated!

3.Top 5 sneakers you own?

I have a lot of sneakers and If I have to think about my top 5 atm it would be:

Nike Air max 1 Atmos tiger camo

Nike Air Jordan 1 Fragment

Nike air max 97 Silver

Nike Air Zoom Spiridon

Vans x Patta x Beams

4. Where do you take inspiration from when it comes to your styling work? (style icons, which subcultures etc.)

My biggest inspiration is for sure my personal background always linked to the StreetCulture, and I integrate it with an obsessive research of images, books, magazines, fanzines, film and especially blogs every days!

5. What are your favorite places in Milan for shopping/food etc?

My favorite place in Milan and my second home is the Stüssy store; it’s more than an usual shop, here you can meet good and interesting people. Most of the people I met here now are my dear friends. Other places where i love spent good time and doing shopping are SlamJam Store, Inner, Fibol, Wok and OneBlockDown. Those are the best shops in Milan for me, each of them is very different with a cool and fresh selection!

You must discover Milan by walking, it’s the only way to appreciate the beauty of the neighborhoods in this city, like Porta Venezia with multyethnic restaurant, or Brera, or Garibaldi where you can find place like 10 Corso Como, an old italian court with Carla Sozzani’s art gallery, beautiful library, fashion shop and bar/restaurant inside.
